Friday Weekly Prayer at Harvest

The Lord who sees to it, The Lord provides.

Genesis 22

Why is it that almost every time God answers our prayers, we are met with astonishment? A few weeks ago, we were gathered at our Friday prayer meeting and we asked God to help provide our friends Matt and Jolynn Brimson with more supporters so that Matt  could continue his flight training. Fifteen minutes later, a dear friend and former member of the Harvest team called. He would like to see Matt continue training as soon as possible and he arranged a sizable check to be sent to Harvest for Matt’s account. In addition, a friend from our community blessed Matt and Jolynn with a gas card to help with their commute to the hangar.

The very next day, we were scheduled to meet with the Brimsons for lunch and our monthly check-in. We shared the great news with them and they were moved to tears at God’s provision. The Brimsons hope to acquire a travel trailer so that they can stay near the airport three days a week to train. All gifts, large and small, are a huge blessing to Matthew and JoLynn, to us and to the Harvest mission.

God of Seeing

Genesis 16

As we wait for everything to come together at Harvest, we have to believe, like Hagar, that God sees us. Individual supporters and friends of Harvest have stepped up with financial gifts so that the engine overhaul costs could be paid. The Chieftain engine overhaul has been completed, test flights conducted, and the airplane is back in our hangar ready to fly. What hasn’t happened yet is the inspection of the plane by the FAA, called the conformity check. Though we were praying the conformity check could have been accomplished  before bringing the Chieftain back, God sees us. God saw fit for there to be a delay. Our director, Brian Smith, believes that God is protecting us. We walk the fine line of persevering, inquiring with the FAA, but not pushing. We aren’t trying to kick any doors down because we walk confidently that God sees us. God will be the one to open the doors.  It’s in His timing.  El Roi

The Piper Archer that I give flight instruction in has been down for inspection and repairs. We had to remove one of the wings and we are repairing a section in front of the door. This is a very labor intensive task and it has been several weeks since we started the project. We are making headway, and everyone is anxious to get this plane back in the air!

The Lord Who Heals

Exodus 15

I recently had outpatient surgery. In the days before surgery, I tried to get caught up with as many projects as possible at home and at the hangar. I will be going back to the hangar soon, but I will be limited in what I can do for the next 5 weeks. In other words, no shop work and more administrative duties. I am healing well, and Darla has been a great care-giver.  Neighbors have shown their concern for us and someone even brought me my favorite medicine, a half-gallon of ice cream! Only when I am ill, or recovering from surgery, do I really appreciate that Jehova is our Healer. I am again reminded that health comes from God alone.  Jehovah-Rapha

Exodus 17

Recently, Send Me Missions organized their annual 5K fundraiser run in Wauchula. There were over 1,000 participants, including young children and adults in their 80’s. This was truly a community event! Harvest Aviation sets up a water table each year along the path, and we joined Matt and Jolynn to fill water cups and hand them out to passing runners. ”As long as Moses held up his hands, the Israelites were winning, but whenever he lowered his hands, the Amalekites were winning.  When Moses’ hands grew tired, they took a stone and put it under him and he sat on it. Aaron and Hur held his hands up—one on one side, one on the other—so that his hands remained steady till sunset.”. It isn’t quite the same, but we tried to be the “arm raisers” to the runners and to Send Me Mission. Someone jogging by said, “You are the first ones to encourage us since the race began!”

Thank YOU all for being our support team and consistent arm raisers. We rely on your prayers, texts, notes of encouragement,  financial gifts and your visits.  We wouldn’t be here at Harvest Aviation without YOU!
